Bridge construction
Moveable bridges are mainly used to cross waterways or harbour entrances to guarantee the uninterrupted ship traffic. Rethebrücke in Hamburg is a good example. The moveable bridge, which received the German Steel Construction Award, is an important infrastructural junction in the Port of Hamburg. As a member of the "ARGE Rethebrücke" consortium, MCE Nyíregyháza Kft. has participated in the production and the assembly of its steel structure.

With a span of 104.20 meters, Rethebrücke is the largest opening bridge in Europe. With the construction of the bridge, the width of the shipping passage increased from 20 to 64 meters. The road and the port rail traffic are running on separate adjacent structures. Rethebrücke's innovative design won the 2020 German Bridge Construction Award.
